Powder MicroStandard™
Applied Microspheres provides Powder MicroStandard™ for calibration of particle analysers which require dry particles, such as Dynamic Image Analysis and Laser Diffraction. Powder MicroStandards are available in a wide selection of very uniform sizes, ranging from 3 to 220 µm.
The certified mean diameters are traceable to the International System of Units (SI). Traceability through the SI is obtained through reference materials calibrated by a third party ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. NIST traceability is also included and obtained through NIST Standard Reference Materials. Powder MicroStandards are composed of plain or cross-linked polystyrene and have a density of 1.05 g/cm3. The refractive index is 1.59 @ 589nm. They are conveniently packaged in vials in 1 gram quantities. They are not designed for dispersion in liquid media.
